RIP Philippe Zdar

The music world is in mourning today after it was confirmed that Philippe Zdar , one half of famous house group Cassius, has passed away after accidentally falling from a building in Paris.

Philippe in the past had also worked with juggernauts artists such as Kanye West and Beastie Boys. Tributes have been pouring from around the globe as like me , allot of people had been ‘touched’ by his music. Personally the ‘Cassius 1999’ was the soundtrack to my entire youth. It was the first vinyl album I had ever purchased and when ever I listen to it, it always reminds of the first days of when I was exposed to house music and club culture. It was only one month ago that Cassius had celebrated their 20th anniversary of the release of their ‘Cassius 1999’ album .

My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family, his legacy will forever live on through his music.
