RIP Johnny Clegg

The music world has lost another great soul . It was announced today that South African singer songwriter Johnny Clegg aka ‘The White Zulu’ has passed away. Clegg’s manager Roddy Quin confirmed it this morning saying ‘“Johnny leaves deep footprints in the hearts of every person that considers himself or herself to be an African. He showed us what it was to assimilate to and embrace other cultures without losing your identity." .

He united a divided country during apartheid, which he fought against , through his music. As a white man who learnt to speak , sing and dance Zulu he became a symbol for a democratic South Africa and vocaly was a critic of apartheid .

He will forever be missed and his legacy will forever live on through his music .
